Greetings! I hope you don't mind me dropping by unannounced. Are you free for a visit? If not, I can just make this a delivery and speak to you later, no worries.

I'm good, [he says, smiling, but brows furrowed a little. he knows lucina well enough to know the front she's putting on.] come in. I got drinks and snacks if you wanna stay. What've you got?

[she steps inside, adjusting her hold on things so she can free a hand to help get her boots off.] I wouldn't mind a drink! Though, you may want to hold off on snacks... I think I have that part covered. [blink.] I...guess that spoils the surprise a little bit.

I think I can forgive that.

[he waves a hand, leaving lucina to the mercy of his dog pokémon.]

What's up, then? You on lunch break?

Hey! Be patient, please! [she'll opt to hover up a bit to keep nosy noses from bouncing too high to get at the packages while she follows Archie into the kitchen where she can set them down and she can at last take her jacket off.]

I took the day off, actually. I had a lot of housekeeping to do, and then wanted to visit with these! [after draping the jacket over the chair, she hands the smaller of the boxes to Archie.]

[upon opening, it's candied seaweed snacks.]

Fair enough, [he says with a little hum, smile pulling at his mouth despite himself. she took a day off! wow, seriously couldn't imagine lucina doing that a year ago. though... he's not sure if that's a good thing or a really, really bad thing.

archie doesn't think on it much, just shuffles the bag open, looking over what's inside with delight.] Thanks.

So, uh... how've ya been? Shit's been blurring into once since that... other crap.

Now, these... [she's barreling right ahead after that 'thanks,' opening up the larger box, chock-full of pokeberry tarts of assorted...quasi-malformed tart-shape.] Are for the team! I hope you don't mind that there's so much. [after all, she had planned to be giving away to more than just Archie's team.] But your ward's Pokemon can partake as well!

[mightyena is a good boy. he lets the treat bounce off his nose so riza, his daughter, can have both. archie doesn't see this - probably for the best, no way he wouldn't start weeping at it - as he's pottering around in the kitchen.]

[the trick gets a little laugh out of Lucina while she puts the rest of the box on a higher counter.

looking over her shoulder as Archie passes by:] Why? [blink.] Something...to do with the breeding, right?

[he says that oh-so-cheerfully. ritz yaps a few times at him, clearly telling him off.]

And she's lovely for it. [she bends to give her a pat.] She must take a long time to walk if children catch glimpse of her...have you seen how many toys and products they make covered in glitter?

[he crosses his arms, leaning back against the counter and watching as riza paws at lucina's hands, snuffling happily.]

So, uh, I guess there was an actual reason ya came over?

[she scoops the pup up and straightens back up, frowning at Archie.]

Actual reason...? I wanted to see you! And deliver the gifts... Should I have...come with more?

[his expression drops a little, a clear amount of guilt tinging it.]

Oh-- sorry. I just kinda figured... maybe somethin' had gone shitty wrong.

[Lucina looks down at the dog in her arms.]

Things aren't...very good right now...but that's only more reason to make sure I cherish the people I have here with me, right? It shouldn't be because of something bad, but because I care...right?
